Sandy Hook (pathway)
Pastel on paper. This a work from a series of drawings based on my travels and experiences in Sandy Hook State Park, in Sandy Hook, NJ. This place is a little gem that protrudes into the hudson bay. It is a very popular tourist spot, especially for folks who live in northern NJ, and NY. Along with beautiful beaches and an awesome 200 year old military base (Ft. Hancock) this peninsula also has a remarkable nature preserve. It is home to an abundant selection of wildlife, and is for the most part, untouched. Slowly but surly the park is eroding away. the park is a reminder of the tides influence on the shore, and how man's best intentions fall apart in the face of natures inevitable will.
