"Silent Machines"

Oil on canvas. This is a painting derived from a series of pictures I took on the first snowy day of the winter here in Belmar, NJ. I found the vulnerability of the powerful machines interesting. They were left so close to the shore line and are seemingly holding themselves back from the tide. the Snow gently falls, adding an element of quiet rest. A recognizable sight to anyone who drives over the Shark River Rt. 35 bridge.
