"The White House"

Oil on canvas. This is an old victorian style home in north Belmar that is an unofficial land mark in town. The way it was glowing white in the mid day sun struck me, especially with the blue ocean in the background. The composition is purposely reminiscent of Edward Hoppers "The House by the Railroad" accept in mine the house is blocked by roof tops and not a railway. I stretched the role of color in the piece to add a little drama.
