"Me as Corbet"
In this portrait I experimented with dramatic lighting, like the old maters might have. The expression and pipe are nods to Corbet's "Self Portrait w/ a Pipe", an artist whom I greatly admire and study with great respect. I love his bravado and attitude of self reliance. I'm not sure if I captured his blissful expression, actually I think I have achieved a look that is quite the opposite, however this was more of a technical exercise for me than any "statement" about who I am.
