I was born November 9th, 1984 to Doug and Valerie Hawxhurst. I have two brothers ( I am the middle son) and a relatively small family.
I grew up in Colts Neck, NJ, and lived there until 2005, when I moved to the shore town of Belmar, NJ. Both my mother and my grandmother are great artist in their own right, and I can say that I probably get my aptitude for the arts from them.
I graduated from Colts Neck High School in 2003 and attended York College of Pennsylvania in York, PA the next fall as an "undecided" major. I did well and made lots of friends, but after that first year I decided that a normal college was not for me. I excelled in the few art classes I took and was inspired to follow my talents by a painting teacher at the school.
I spent a year at Brookdale Community College in Colts Neck, NJ, and was accepted for the fall semester of 2005 at the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design in Lancaster, PA. This is where I lived and studied for the next three years, until I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in May of 2008.
Since graduation I have been working full time in bicycle retail for Brielle Cyclery. Bicycles are my other great passion in life and whenever I have time I make and sell artwork.
